Search the archives for "syncope". I posted a response about my experience. I have near-fainting spells when my period starts. I think it has to do with not getting enough blood flow to my head. Laying downs helps. If you lay down to masterbate, that may be helping. And I know when I have an orgasm, my head sometimes pounds like there's a lot of blood going to it (like when you hang upside down). Maybe a similar thing is happening with you. Good luck to you. And don't feel bad about masterbating. Everyone does it, and if it helps you, don't hesitate. I can't imagine that you're doing any harm.
