Well, in all honesty, I've not heard of masturbation as a treatment for chronic pelvic pain. Having said that, some women find that orgasms help to relieve cramps from their period. So, maybe that is the thinking of the Doctor. Has a laparoscopy been done by your GYN to rule out Endometriosis, PID, etc.? If not, that would be the next step to take. Good luck to you!
