Continuous bleeding while taking progesterone for ovarian cystFrom: Sharisse (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 2 Jan 2003 10:52:05 -0600 (CST)
I am 37, and I started bleeding back on October 10,2002. I was told that I have a follicle cyst on my left ovary. I was prescribed progesterone, and told the bleeding would stop with medication (I have only had about 6 days in the three months that I have not bled). I am still bleeding while taking the medication. Should I see a different doctor, as I am not getting any sort of relief? I am also concerned because the doctor automatically said that the bleeding and enlarged cervix were hormonal, but, they never tested any of my hormone levels? I had tests done in July of last year (by my primary), He said my hormone and thyroid levels were fine. Should I continue taking the medication, or choose another doctor?
