I'm 17 and I've been on Ortho-tricyclen for over a year. I had to go back to the gyn for an annual exam to get another year of the prescription... the week before I had problems, because I ran out of pills and it was the soonest I could get into the doctor, so I was without pills for a few days. My period seemed to end on the same day it normally would if i had the next month(Sunday) but Monday I decided to have sex and during the day I was walking and all of a sudden - whoosh I was bleeding really heavily and i got dizzy. It lasted a few hours and I was sick. My appointment was the next day so when I went it I told her about it and that while she was doing the pap smear I was having sharp pains in my lower left pelvic area. She told me that it could have been normal for it to happen this time, but if it happened again to let her know. I asked her what the pains could be and she said they might be a cyst or something. I talked with my mom and it turns out she had the same thing happen to her one time, but the cause was an eptopic pregnancy. I'm scared that it might have been that, and maybe I've miscarried, but then I've also heard the only way to lose an eptopic pregnancy is by surgery. Which facts are true? What is the most likely answer? I'm supposed to start my next period within the next couple days, and I've noticed the pain is back... should I be worried???
