Its not such a stupid question; tampons can be "forgotten" and left in, resulting in discharge ans a bad smell, sometimes even some cramping.

However, there is no way for a tampon to be lost beyond your reach. A quick exploration of the vaginal cavity with clean hands should put your mind at ease.
