cold feet

My fingers and toes have been chilly for years but this winter my feet are so cold when I get into bed that it keeps me up at night. My whole body is so chilly that I wear multiple layers to bed and find that I get sore muscles from huddling my body parts together. However, in the middle of the night I often wake up sweating from all of the layers.I bought a heating pad for my feet to help me get to sleep but it seemed to work on the exterior of my feet (they felt warm to someone elses touch) yet to me they felt numb and a bit sore/achy. This is my first year working at a desk job and I don't exercise much. Could the inactivity cause this symptom in someone in their early twenties? I can't seem to find much info on young healthy people with cold feet! Thanks, Amanda
