I'm 26 and have had Endometriosis for about 10 years. I've had 6 Laporoscopys, I've taken the Lupron shots three times. I've been on several different brands, strengths and types of birth control. They tell you that you shouldn't do the Lupron treatment more than once, but I was desperate for some relief. There are quite a few side effects that I personally experienced. I had a LOT of hot flashes, night sweats, acne, weight gain, very severe mood swings, and occasionally a craving or two. :) I can't really say if the treatment is worth it or not, but I personally felt that the nine months of pain free, period free days were worth it for me. I still have endometriosis, well, I did after my first child. I'm pregnant again, and I knnow it'll be waiting for me when I'm done. I will have two children, and I believe I will be ready to get that Hysterectomy. :) I believe that the treatments they have avilable for endometriosis come with a personal oppinion of satisfaction. I personally would go through a Laporoscopy once a year for the relief. Having the right doctor helps a lot too.
