Rectal Bleeding With Period / Groin PainFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netSat, 30 Nov 2002 02:24:55 -0500
I have had a sharp pain in my left groin area for the last two months that I feel when I lift my leg a certain way (i.e., lifting my leg to put on my pantyhose). I have also been experiencing some pain in my rectum upon defecation accompanied by rectal bleeding, which only seems to occur about a week before or during my menstrual period. I have been doing some research and I am now worried that this might be due to endometriosis, for which there is not clear diagnosis and no treatment. Could it indeed be endometriosis or could another condition be causing these symptoms? I have always had very heavy periods and they have often been accompanied by terrible cramps, nausea, sometimes vomiting, and fecal urgency. Thank you for your help. - Anonymous
