I had what appeared to be a heavy menstrual period after the abortion, but have not had a menstrual cycle since then. My boyfriend and I have had sex a few times since then, and we always used condoms and were very careful to use them properly. I thought I might be pregnant again somehow because I have not had my period. I took a home pregnancy test, and I think it was negative. I am not completely sure about the result, because after a half hour or so, the test did turn very faintly positive. Is it normal to miss a period or two after an abortion, especially for someone who is 40?
