Sudden onset of menstrual irregularity

I'm 21, no pregnancies, currently abstinent. I do, however, have HPV. I have been treated for the HPV over a year ago, and I have kept up with my Paps since then. Recently, I have been getting my period every two weeks as opposed to every four-five weeks. I have a lot of brown-black discharge for about four days prior to my period starting...this is not something that is normal for me. The brown-black discharge is sometimes tinged with a little blood. This is the third period I have had in six weeks, and the bleeding is much heavier than normal for me. I am not under any undue amounts of stress, and I have not changed my diet or exercise patterns. What could be going on? Any way it could be connected to my HPV?
