Ovulation pains while on Birth Control Pill

Hi,

I was just wondering why I have ovulation pains while on the BCP. Isnt the BCP supossed to stop ovulation? Could I possibly still ovulate even while on the Pill? I also really feel like I had gotten pregnant several months back but still had a light period for three months and then passed a clot like thing. All this time I was still taking the BCP. Could I have gotten pregnant while on the pill and then had a miscarriage? I actually think this may have happened a couple times. I have been on the BCP for 2 years. I was just thinking that since I have the ovulation pains, I may actually be ovulating and that is why I may have gotten pregnant earlier. Any feedback would be much appreciate. Thank you.
