Hi, first of all, i'm not a DR. My explanation is a possibility and shouldn't be taken in replace of a DR's explanation as you know. I started my period at age 11. I've had one every month since but i know of women who started periods as young or in their teens and the had their first one and didn't have one for months or years later. Sometimes it doesn't mean anything is wrong.
