About 2 weeks ago, I was diagnosed with PID...I had a lot of pain in the left side (it felt ovarian to me, the doctor said it was the tube). I was given two injections of antibiotics and then put on a z-pack. Now, I still have some discharge and the pain continues to get worse. I was in ER this weekend...he felt my abdomen and did a CT scan, urince culture & CBC....said all tests were normal, so there was no evidence of the PID still there. He recommended that I check the my gyn because he thought maybe it was the endo again...when I'm having endo pain, it's usually a cramping pain...this is more of an ache. He did give me Darvocet until I can see my gyn....I'm just wondering what else it could be if the CT scan was normal. Also, can a doctor tell if PID is gone without doing a pelvic exam and vaginal cultures??? Next message: William McIntosh, MD: "Re: switching birth control?"
