Premarin, OrthoTricyclen and Period.From: Alison (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 27 Aug 2002 22:37:14 -0500 (CDT)
I took Premarin this cycle (21 days) because I had a problem with breakthrough bleeding last cycle. I've taken OrthoTricyclen for about 7 months and that was the first time I had had any irregular bleeding. My gyno prescribed 21 days of Premarin (estrogen) st get things back to normal. I took my last Premarin saturday and my first placebo pill Sunday (as scheduled). My period was supposed to start today (3rd day of placebo pills) and it didn't. My period usually starts on the 3rd day of placebo pills, though it has started on the 4th day a couple times, but I am still concerned about being late. I had unprotected (i.e no condom, just bcp) sex 3 times this cycle while taking the orthotricyclen and premarin. Given the situation, does it seem very likely I am pregnant? And could taking Premarin have affected the period I am supposed to be getting? thank you in advance, alison.
