Caring boyfriend needs advice for his girlfriendFrom: Caringman (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 27 Aug 2002 22:20:19 -0500 (CDT)
I need some help for my girlfriend. I just found out tonight that she has been experienced prolonged bleeding from her period for about 3 weeks now. This is the first time this has happened to her and she doesn't know why. She said she is not in any pain and doesn't remember falling down or having any type of impact that would affect things. She also told me that she has irregular cycles, and has since she started menstrating. She is now 24 years old. She told me sometimes she is at a 4 week cycle and other times she will go 2 to 3 months without having her period. I asked if she has ever went to a doctor or obgyn to look at this and she said no. I suggested that I would go in with her if she wanted me to, and she was not willing to do this. I said that I have heard that birth control pills can help regulate cyles. She is unwilling to take any type of birth control medication because she has heard it can affect the ability to have children. I have read other posts in the forum and these things jump out at me as possible causes of what is going on. Recently she has been under a very high level of stress and also started excerising more adding 30 to 60 minutes of cardio activity to her workout several times per week. Any advice I can get on this would be very helpful. Thanks..
