I am not a MD, but I will be an RN after my boards in about a week. The antibiotics definetely predispose you for a yeast infection. They alter the normal bacteria in your vagina that prevent yeast from overgrowing. Swimming, and leaving a wet bathing suit on also can contibute to yeast growth due to the moisture. Often a yeast infection starts out with some itching, and then becomes worse. You can treat it with an OTC cream now so that doesn't happen - if this doesn't help see your doctor. Many times when women are put on antibiotics they also treat for yeast infection simultaneously as a preventative measure - it will do no harm - Kimberly
