vaginal drynessFrom: Melissa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 28 Jul 2002 23:51:01 -0500 (CDT)
I have been taking the pill (mainly orthotrycyclen) for almost seven years. I am as of late experiencing vaginal dryness. I have initial moistness but then it stops and my vagina becomes swollen and dry. This makes things uncomfortable. However, all of the information that I find is regarding vaginal dryness and menopause. I am 24 years old, and hardly think this is due to premenopause! I have had an STD in the past, but I see my doctor annually and have been STD free for a few years. Please tell me how I can find information on vaginal dryness in young women and how to stop it. I know there are lubricants available but I would like to try a more natural approach first. I have never used a lubricant and am embarassed that at my age I would need to use one. I was wondering if the pill has anything to do with this? Any suggestions? Thank you.
