Unusual spotting after intercourse

My wife found a thread on this board from about a year ago started by a woman who was not a US citizen who was having some unusual spotting after intercourse. Someone replied and said it could be anything from an infection to cervical cancer, and now my wife is worried because she has the same symptoms. She has scheduled an appointment with her doctor, but they can't see her for almost a month! She is having lots of anxiety over this issue and is convinced that either A) she is going to die, or B) she will not be able to have any more children. She is only 24 years old so I would be really surprised if there is anything majorly wrong, but I can't seem to put her mind at ease. We have already ruled out the possibility of an STD like Chlymidia because we have a monogomous relationship. Therefore she is convinced that there is a serious problem. My personal opinion is that she is pregnant (which would be great!) but this is not founded on any real knowledge. Does anyone know what came of the woman who posted the original message? Did everything turn out okay? Does anyone have any further advice or could anyone provide some additional possible causes of her symptoms to help put her mind at ease? Is it possible that she is pregnant and that is causing the problems? Thanks in advance for any help you can give!
