HPV without warts?From: Adria (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 25 Jul 2002 15:20:47 -0500 (CDT)
Hi. I searched the archives for anything HPV related but did not find a similar situation to mine. Perhaps I didn't look hard enough, but I am very confused and worried so I will post this now. I am 20 years old and have been sexually active for 2 years with the same partner and ONLY with him. He has only had sex with me as well. Last month my pap came back "a step above normal" as my doctor put it, so he had me come into the office today for a colposcopy. It was then that he told me I had tested positive for HPV. I was so stunned and confused I was crying and have been since. I don't understand how I could get this. My doctor said it is only transmitted through sex, so I am clearly baffled since my boyfriend and I have been monogamous (sp?) for 2 years (and not sexually active before then). Someone please shed some light on this for me. MY doctor seems to be of no help. :( Scared, confused, embarassed, Adria
