Absent periods..From: Jeremy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 18 Jul 2002 01:47:00 -0400
I'm 25 years old and I have never really been regular with my periods. About four years ago I did receive Depo-Provera shots for pregnancy prevention. It stopped my period all together for about a year. (I have always had it once every 2 to 3 months since puberty) Now, I am not sexually active, nor on any prevention plan or medication, what's going on? Why am I so inconsistent? Every gynecologist has said that girls my age go through irregular cycles. I have no clue. Could this mean I am unable to conceive? I've heard that Depo-Provera is generally geared to older women (over 30), I took it when I was 20-21. Could that have affected me? Also, I was a very late 'bloomer', 16 to be exact, does that have some affect?
