You're perfectly right Dawn, if you're not ovulating you don't have any follicular cyst. So this cyst must be ruled out (or confirmed) through another US right after your regular period. If it still exists it an organic cyst and it should be removed, if not it's a follicular one and must be left alone. A polyp is quite able to make you bleed irregularly. That justifies a surgery.
