irregular periods and pain

I have posted before in May 2002 (menstrual problems, May 13th) and now I'm even more worried.

After spotting after last months cycle, it ended on the 9th and I spotted on the 13th lightly, it is now the 14th of June and there is no sign of my period. I have no cramps or bloating, but I made a gynecologist appointment for July 9th (the earliest they could fit me in).

I'm concerned if I should seek medical attention sooner than then. Also, I've been having more random pains in my lower stomach. It feels like a pulling/shooting pain, mostly on the right side.

Please, if anyone responds, what should I do? What are the possible causes of these frustrating symptoms?

My mother is coming to the doctor with me too, but she is into the "natural" way of thinking (i.e. would rather use vitamins to cure anything than prescribed medication). I know she'll talk the doctor out of any medicine or birth control pill she may want to put me on.

This will also be my first time going to the gynocologist and I'm extremely nervous.
