If taken correctly, BCP's can be very effective. My 2nd child was a "pill baby" b/c I ws not consistent about taking them at the same time every day (was the "mini-pill" for nursing moms, has about a 3hr window). You don't say what symptoms you get, but some symptoms of pregnancy are the smae as PMS - swollen, tender breasts, etc. The way to tell if you are pregnant would be a pregnancy test. With all of my children, I had a light period during the first month of pregnancy. If a pregnancy would not be right for you at this time, you really should talk to your doctor about a different type of birth control. There are several that don't require you to remember each day to take something. With other options, why take the risk?
