Can anyone help?From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 2 Jun 2002 20:27:11 -0500 (CDT)
I just turned 22 last month, and I've had irregular periods since day one. I will do my periods sometimes months at a time constantly, and sometimes won't do them at all for months at a time. I've been to doctors and have had paps and they are normal, so they give me birth control pills. All the pills that they have given me have made me sick in someway and I always have to stop taking them before they really have a chance to work. I'm now taking the Alesse 28, I've been taking them for about two weeks and so far they haven't stopped me but they haven't made me sick. They have taken blood tests and I'm not anemic or anything but this has been going on for years and I'm wondering if anyone else has the same problem or if there's anyone who can give me some advice as to what I should do. I'm not sexually active, never have been. I'm also overweight and the doctors seem to think that has something to do with my problem, but I would like to know for sure if this is just irregular periods or something more. My other question is, being that I have been irregular for so long, how long should it take these Alesse 28 to make me stop? I'm just really sick of going to doctors, so if there's anyone out there who has had the same problem, or anyone who can give me some information, I would really appreciate it. Thank you very much...
