I would like to add something to the other very kind replies you've received. A gyn exam is not even remotely like abuse or rape. It's just medicine. As long as the Dr knows your concerns ahead of time, everthing will be fine. Please go to http://www.firstvisit.org and this site will help to explain what you can expect. Just try to look at it like going to the Dentist so that your teeth are healthy - it's something you need to do for your health. It's also something that you need to do for you. You are a very important person, who needs to be kind to herself and her body. It will get better, if you just give yourself time to heal.... Best wishes.
