Tina,

I am glad to hear you spoke to someone. You need that support.

You do need to see a Dr. about the itching. Since you have been sexually active in the past, you also need to see a GYN for an exam and STD testing.

The Dr. will allow someone in the room with you. Let the Dr. know of your past history of abuse and past sexual history, and let him know of your fears. S/he will go slowly and won't do anything you feel uncomfortable about. If you say stop, they'll stop.

Do make an appt.
