You are going to give up a good degree of reliability if you move away from the hormonal methods, by far the most effective other than sterilization and the IUD, neither of which is an option for you. The diaphragm is a pretty good choice, probably the best of the bunch if you use a spermacide, and use the diaphragm every single time you have sex. Most failures are when the diaphragm is in the case. Why do you want to get off hormonal methods?
