alesse, postponing period, non-stopFrom: Chrystyna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 26 May 2002 22:16:40 -0500 (CDT)
I've been bad... My husband lives overseas and I don't get to see him often. I was on the bcp but had gone off, realizing that I didn't want to have my period while he was here I decided to go back. I had used other bcp's in the past and have used it to postpone my period, but this was my first time using alesse. I knew I didn't have much time, but I decided to try my luck in postponing my period by taking the packs right after the other, skipping the placebos. I knew that there was a chance that it would not work as it was my second month. Unfortunately, it didn't work, and not only did i have my period while he was here, but it still hasn't stopped. I've been on my period for 10 days now, and i'm almost midway through my pack. In the past with bcps i haven't had my period for this long. I understand that alesse is a low dosage and sometimes you get breakthrough bleeding, but is this normal?
