According to the PDR, depo-provera should be stopped as soon as signs or symptoms of thrombophlebitis are suspected. i.e. no more injections. Pregnancy or Oral contraceptives are both much more likely to cause thrombophlebitis than is depo provera. Consideration should be given to tubal ligation or an IUD.
