had period but other pregn. symptomsFrom: Sandy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 13 May 2002 16:38:31 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I have been on orthotricyclen for over a year. I missed the first pill of my pack but took it the next morning, as well as the regular pill for that day(which was taken in the evening). Late that night (at least 12 hours after taking the first pill and 7 hours after I took the second pill) I vomited. 4 days later, I had intercourse using a condom, during which the condom broke and no ejaculation occurred. I tried to obtain a morning-after pill but was told that I was not a candidate for it, as it would not be effective for someone already taking ortho-tricyclen. Two and a half weeks after the intercourse, my menstrual period arrived on time and with regular duration and flow. Several days before the period, I began feeling symptoms of breast tenderness and fever, which I assumed were part of PMS. Five days after my period ended I was again feeling feverish and achey, so I took two over the counter urine pregnancy tests (four weeks after the intercourse), which both came out negative. Now I am still feeling achey in my muscles, fatigued, and hot (although I do not officially have a fever), and with diarrhea. What are the chances that these symptoms could mean pregnancy? Does the period I had (which I perceived to be normal) mean that no pregnancy occurred? Or was the period too soon after intercourse to be affected by any possible pregnancy? Also, if my period was not missed but four weeks have occurred since the intercourse, should the tests I took be capable of accurately detecting any HGC levels in my urine? Can I stop worrying? Thanks.
