Hygeine QuestionFrom: Anon. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 7 Apr 2002 13:11:10 -0500 (CDT)
I know a lot of questions are answered here about vaginal health, but I haven't seen much about what might cause pain during bathing. This is a fairly recent problem for me. I bathe daily, and have used the same soap for years. But lately, I have experienced pain when washing my vaginal area. The pain probably actually involves my vulva - it is near the top. The pain is sharp, stinging, kind of feels like spikes, or like I'm being stapled down there. The pain can last for a couple of hours. Again, all I am doing is washing the area very gently with soap. I have coped with vaginal dryness before, and this seems different. What could be going on? Suggestions for dealing with this? Do I just need a different soap? I would be very uncomfortable with the idea of not washing at all down there! Thanks!
