Re: 'Shy' cervix?From: vw (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 1 Apr 2002 15:44:21 -0600 (CST)
Well, I am 30 and a virgin, although I am looking forward not to be at some stage soon! However, it took me until 3 years ago to pluck up the courage to go at all (UK). However it took many years of self pleasuring and exploration to give me the confidence to go at all. I feel this is good, as many relationships falter on the womean's pleasure and I feel I have spent my time well. However my first exam was fine, but only because I was prepared and I knew how my body would work. Thinking about it, had I not been prepared, I might have found the exam a bit different from what I had read in US books. I was not warned as to when it would start by the nurse (not Dr.), it was very quick, I was told briefly what it involved and discussion of history etc. I might have found it painful, but I did not, luckily I knew how to relax. But yes, it seems the caring aspect varies. Although In am glad I had a woman, I would never have the courage to face a man (way too embarrassed sorry chaps). I am due this year again, as in the UK, we only have every 3 years anyway max. I am looking forward to seeing how my female Dr. does it to compare techniques, this year. >
