Erica,

If your MD will not answer your questions, find one that will.

When you say a shooting pain, that makes me think nerves...I'm not a Dr. though.

Find a new MD. You will feel better having an MD that listens. I had to switch years ago (for various reasons) to a new OBGYN, and the one I switched to was absolutely wonderful! I was so glad I made the switch. It was tough after being with one group and one Dr. for so long, but it was the best thing I could have done.
