swollen lymp node under armFrom: Worry (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 27 Mar 2002 23:50:32 -0600 (CST)
I am 26 years old. Before Christmas I noticed a swollen lymph node under my arm. I also have a lump in my breast. So in January I went to my GYN and he sent me to have a mamogram. Turns out the lumps are fybroids. Every woman in my family has this. They told me not to worry about the lump under my arm, but I do because there must be a reason it is there. It has gotten a little larger I have noticed. I try not to mess with it, though. I was wondering if it had something to do with the fybroids or is there something else going on. By the way it is on the same side as the lumps in my breast. I will also add that I have gum disease and my gums get quite aggravated at times I was thinking maybe the infection from the gums my cause swelling in that lymph node. I have read that lymph nodes swell due to an infection somewhere in your body. I may be wrong. Please let me know what any of you think, I am just worried about it. Thank you.
