Questions about possible side effect of Ortho Tricyclen? From: anonymous@obgyn.netWed, 13 Mar 2002 18:33:14 EST
My girlfriend recently called me from vacation and told me she had started her period on time and everything is fine. She just got on the pill (Ortho Tricylen) last month, started taking the pill the Sunday after her period, and now had begun her period again. The thing that made me nervous and concerned enough to seek more information is that she said her discharge was lumpy, clotted, whichever way you want to see it and that it worried her. She said her friend had told her that she had lumpy discharge one time and it was due to a miscarriage. For one, she had her period last month(it was late but that shouldnt make a difference) so I couldnt see that she could have a miscarriage within a month not even noticing signs of pregnancy. Now I am really curious why this is occuring, is it maybe normal at the end of the first month taking the pill to have heavy bleeding being clumpy? I researched Ortho and found no evidence of this fact so thats what puts me in my confused state. We have been together for 5 months and she was tested for any diseases before she was put on the pill so that should rule out that, so what now........ Please help, Lost in Texas
