False Negative Pregnancy TestFrom: Cindy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 12 Mar 2002 11:22:19 -0600 (CST)
I have missed my period for the last three months. I went to the gyn where they did a urine pregnancy test. It came out negative so they prescribed me Provera 10 mg to bring my period back. I am worried that since they did not do a blood test that I may actually be pregnant and the Provera would harm the fetus if I actually am pregnant. How accurate are urine pregnancy tests done at the gyn office? Should I accept the results of the urine tests or ask for a blood test also? Also, what would be the effect of these pills on a fetus?
