Conceiving after miscarriageFrom: H (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 11 Mar 2002 16:13:18 -0600 (CST)
I'm 23, and my husband and I are trying to have a baby. We have been unsuccessful for the past year, and I am wondering if my previous medical history, or perhaps my job are to blame. When I was 19, I got pregnant, and 3 months into my pregnancy had an abortion. Later in that same year, I found out I was pregnant again, which resulted in a miscarriage after 6 weeks. Would this have an effect on my future fertility?? After the miscarriage, I switched my birth control to Depo Provera, but discontinued it's use after 3 months. I am also in a high stress occupation (paramedic) and wonder if that could be a contributing factor? I have not been on any kind of birth control for the past year, and still no luck.
