Marchbein, M.D.: "Re: vaginal discharge" Hi, I'm 16 and have been sexually active. My only partner DOES NOT have any STDs so I have ruled out that possibility. I have had a thin almost water-like dark brown sometimes almost black discharge and it has a very strong odor. My concern is that I have may have forgotten to take out a tampon before inserting another and I have a lost tampon inside me. The reason I think that is because I read somewhere that a lost object in the vagina can cause dark smelly discharge. The discharge is persists every day. Do you think I could be right or do you think it could be something else. Either way I plan on seeing a Gyno. (I've never seen one before) but I would like your input first. Next message: Harvey S.
