My 11 year old daughter (who has had her period since September), has severe itching in her vaginal area (I'm not sure of the specifics because it's hard/embarrasing for her to explain thoroughly). She has also complained of burning during urination. I called her pediatrician and they can't fit her in today and tomorrow most doctors are out of the office. She has excellent hygiene. Could it be a yeast infection? What could cause an infection, in a young child? Could it be a medical reason? Please give me your opinion. Thanks in advance for your time...
