Pediatric vaginal discharge

My 4 1/2 year old daughter has an asymptomatic, non-odorous white pasty discharge between the labia majora and the lips of her mons pubis. I'm not sure if it is possibly toilet paper residue. She is very small and was born 4 months premature. The area is often times hard to separate for cleaning. She never complains about anything in that area but I notice it when bathing. She has had this for most of her life. I asked when she was born and was told that it was physiologic. Should I concern myself with this or is it normal?
