Trying to conceive

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for almost a year now and still no luck. My periods have been out of whack since they started when I was 16. The first few months were normal, after that I started to skip for 6 or 7 months before having another one. I'm now 22 years old and after taking Aleese birth control for 2 months and then stopping my periods have been 28 days apart but very very light, so light that I only see it on the toilet paper when I wipe. I have been using OPK's and last month it gave a positive for ovulation but still no luck yet on pregnancy. Do you think it is possible for me to conceive? I have an appointment with a fertility doctor next month, and I'm nervous in thinking that I will never be able to have a baby. Please help me!!
