Pelvic pain, congestion and the pillFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 9 Jan 2002 18:54:37 -0600 (CST)
In 2000, I had a laparoscopy performed in order to find a cause for severe pelvic pain. All that showed up was PCOS. I've been told that the PCOS is not causing the pain, yet I wasn't given any other direction to go in to find the cause of the pain. Now my GP has referred me to another gynaecologist for a second opinion. This gynaecologist does not think that it is gynae, but wants me to keep a food diary to see if it is Irritable Bowel Syndrome, plus she is checking urine for UTI's, but she did mention Pelvic Congestion Syndrome as a possible cause. She has also prescribed the pill for me to take, plus an anti-spasmodic, in case it is bladder spasms. The problem is, I have taken two other kinds of the pill before and they have only made the pain worse, not better. If anyone can help me in anyway I would be grateful. I'm 17, and I've never had a pelvic exam as I'm not sexually active. Also any help as far as an Australian website like this one would be helpful, as I live in Australia. Thanks, Amy
