Hi Pippy,

Although I can't answer your questions regarding blot clots on the plane, I can answer some of your other concerns from a personal point of view. I recently went on vacation with my parents and the time difference was only one hour, therefore I could continue to take my pill at the same time as usual and wouldn't lose effectiveness. I believe a 1-2 hour time difference won't make any difference.

As for hiding it from your family, I too had the same problem. I normally take my pill early in the morning when I get up. So I just got up in the morning and took the pill when I went to the bathroom. If you normally take it at a meal time, just be sure your pill package is in your purse and then excuse yourself to go to the bathroom. I don't think it would look suspicious if you go to the bathroom before a meal, as it would just mean good personal hygiene. (i.e. washing your hands before eating!)

I didn't fly so I'm not sure about drugs with customs.

Hope that helps and I hope a Dr. can answer your questions about the blood clots.
