Period every two weeksFrom: Melissa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 28 Dec 2001 20:40:15 -0600 (CST)
I am a health 28 year old. I first got my period at 13, and never had it regular. Infact at 16 I was put on the pill to regulate it after missing my period for 6 months. I have been on the pill for the majority of that time, except when I had my first daughter in 1996, when I got pregnant again in 1999 (but ended with an ectopic pregnancy), and just recently when I was pregnant with my now 8 month old. In August of this year, I spoke to my OBGYN and started taking OrthoTriCyclin. To be honest I am horrible with the pill. It makes me extremely nausious. So in October, I stopped taken them. However, I has menstrating normally every 28 days until the end of November. Since November I have had my period every two weeks. It is heavier then normal, but the color is a dark red/brown. Is that normal? Is it something to worry about? Do I have to get back on the pill or do I have other options? I know that due to my ectopic pregnancy the IUD is NOT recommended, Do I have any other options? I am sorry to burden you with these questions during the New Year, but my OBGYN is out of town and I don't want to call him unless its an emergency. Let me know what you think. Thank you.
