I've had my period for 3 months!From: Shelbie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 25 Dec 2001 15:49:32 -0600 (CST)
I had an abortion last July (I really didn't want to, but my boyfriend pretty much made me). Anyways, I didn't stop bleeding until that October when I went to my OB/GYN who prescribed me something to try to stop the bleeding. Thank goodness it did, and since then I've been somewhat regular (not text-book periods, but after bleeding for 3 months straight I'm not complaining). He had me go in for an ultrasound, too, which came back normal. Now, last month I had my annual Pap smear and it came back abnormal. What are the usual reasons that a Pap smear will come back abnormal and do you think it had anything to do with my past experience? What do you think caused mine to come back abnormal? I'm really starting to get worried, here! Thank you for your help & I look forward to hearing from you.
