I have been on my current BCPs for about a year. My "periods" are usually regular and come on the same inactive day at around the same time. I always take my BCPs on time and I never miss one. This month, my period was strange. It lasted only about 2 days (1 day heavy, 1 day light), was brown, 9 hours late, and there were large clumps of tissue. This past month, I have been very stressed, my eating and sleeping habits have not been normal, and I have spent a lot of time riding in cars. I have been constipated and had a headache for a few days, but I talked to my doctor's nurse and she said that it was most likely dehydration. I took a laxitive and drank more water, and now that is resolved. My boyfriend and I do not have intercourse, but there is occassional penetration. He doesn't ejaculate in or around my gential area. We are each other's first time partners and only partners, so we are not concerned with STDs. Usually, when we "mess around" we do it right after my period, just incase my BCPs aren't effective. Also, I was on minocyclin for two months for a flare up of acne. I am currently not in any discomfort of have any other unusual sympotms. I have some slight cramping in my pelvic area, but it is not severe and is intermittent. I am a healthy 21 year old. My nurse said that the period doesn't sound like anything serious. I know I'm just being over paranoid, but I would really appreciate another opinion! Sorry for the long drawn out message. Thank you so much!
