varcous veinsFrom: Charles (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 5 Dec 2001 20:49:22 -0800
Hello, my name is Erika. I am 21 years of age. I have had two children. One is two and a half. The other is one. I have always been a petite person. I am 5'5 and weigh 120 lbs. While I was pregnant my weight went up to about 170 lbs. Then afterwards I lost all of my weight. With both pregnancies I did this. During my second pregnancy I started having pain in my legs. While standing for to long. So my doctor told me to elevate my legs. I did as she said. Soon after. I developed small vericouse veins. Now a year after mt son was born. The veins grew much larger. They have also spread over more of a portion of my legs. They still give me alot of pain. When standing in a long line.Or sometimes just doing the dishes. I have only heard of older or over weight people having this problem. I need to know if I need to have surgery. Or is there some kind of medication that could take care of this problem? sincerely. Worried
