Denial is not just a river in Egypt. You cannot have your period while you are pregnant, though it is possible to have other types of bleeding. This bleeding is unlikely to be as regular as pill periods. How did she manage to not notice the baby moving for the past 5 months? I have seen patients several times over the years that claimed that they either were not pregnant, when they clearly were, or that they had not recognized that they were pregnant. I even had one woman deny that she was pregnant, even thought the head was out, but the rest of the baby's body was still inside. Denial is a powerful force.
