Can you have PID if you are a virgin?

I'm a 17 year old girl, and I've never been sexually active, but I've had severe pelvic pains for the past 20 months. I've been tested for a lot of things, but the only thing that has showed up is PCOS. I'm told it doesn't cause pain, but a lot of my symptoms point to PID. Is it possible to have it even though I'm a virgin? If not can anyone suggest something that could be causing this pain? If it could be PID, how can I convince my doc to test for it, as doc's in Australia (where I am) don't do pelvic exams in virgins. Anyone who can help me can also e-mail me at: amyangel3@hotmail.com or amyangel34ever@yahoo.com.au Thanks, Amy
