I hope that is not urgent that you want to get pregnant. But to answer your question, pelvic inflammatory disease can destroy fallopian tubes, which could decrease your chance of getting pregnant, and can also increase your chance for an abnormal pregnancy, such as an ectopic pregnancy, which would be in the fallopian tube, and is a life-threatening event. While I agree with the other posters that the age of 16 is a little bit young to get pregnant, just remember that everything you do you are responsible for. It means that if you have a baby, you are responsible for that baby until it is able to live on its own. No offense, but the baby will probably be very similar to you or your partner. And can you imagine taking care someone like you at this age? If not it's probably best to use some kind of birth control. Oral contraceptive pills have been known to decrease the risk of pelvic inflammatory disease, such as Chlamydia and gonorrhea, which tend to destroy the fallopian tubes. Oral contraceptive pills do not prevent you from getting HIV, herpes, or hepatitis, so you should probably have your partner where condom as well.
